Choosing your therapist
It's important to feel comfortable with your therapist, your first personal contact with them is
likely to be by telephone and you should be able to ask any questions and have them answered fully.
Therapists on this register are very unlikely to use Testimonials, as they are banned by most
respectable associations, due to the fact that not only can they be made up but look extremely
unprofessional, but some organisations allow them and at the same time also allow therapists to
join with little or no training providing they pay their subscriptions so it is worth investigating
or simply avoiding if something feels tacky, also be careful about any therapist who uses words
such as “cure”, responsible Hypnotherapists are aware that therapy is not a cure for anything but a help.
Your therapist is also likely to communicate with your GP and in some cases may not even be
allowed to see you without you obtaining written authorisation from your GP.
Avoid any therapist who is willing to treat a medical issue such as depression, migraines or
erectile dysfunction without a GP’s referral.
Therapists with the HPD qualification will be identified on our register, more info about the HPD can be found HERE.
Once you have contacted a few Hypnotherapists and obtained info about fees and session structures,
go with whomever you feel most comfortable with, if they are on this register then you know that your in safe hands.
